How many times should you post to Facebook per day?
When it comes to growing your business, it is important to understand how often you should be posting. You will find people tell you that you should post once per day. Let’s face it, if you want your content to be seen by people, you have to do more than the bare minimum. When in life have you ever seen someone achieve massive amounts of success by only doing the minimum? NEVER!
Depending on where you are looking, you will find data that says twice per day, or 3 to 5 times per day, or even once per day as I mentioned above. The reality is when it comes to posting, you need to post as many times as it takes to get your message in front of your customers. If you do not have the amount of clients and customers you are looking for, then you need to increase the amount of posts that you are using until you find the right number.
Why More Than One?
People are on Facebook at all different times of the day. If you have a global brand, then you will have people looking at your content 24 hours a day depending on where your audience is located at. Also remember, because people resonate with different types of content, you will want to cater to that particular need. There will be people who resonate with images and video long before a basic status update.
When To Post?
The first step in this process is to utilize your page insights to see when your audience is active on Facebook. This will help you identify the peak times to post. It will also let you know the times when you do not need to post anything. This is one of the many reasons why you should be using a Page vs a Profile to promote your business. If you are just starting your page, then you will want to base your posting times based off of your ideal clients daily behavior. For example, if your audience consists of working adults, you will want to use posting times that coincide with the beginning of the day, lunch, then after work.
Over time, you will begin to notice patterns on when your audience is most engaged. This will allow you to tweak your posting times to maximize organic exposure of your content.
In terms of content, you absolutely must share things that are engaging and provide value to your audience. If you are only pushing out content that says “Buy My Stuff”, then you are missing out on why people are utilizing Social Media in the first place. You will want to use a combination of video, articles, images, and status updates.
Remember you have a gift to share, and it is your duty to ensure your message gets out to the world as you never know whose life you will impact!
