Every business ultimately has to leverage advertising to attract clients and customers. However, because some business owners and entrepreneurs have different resources available to them, allocating funds to advertising might be difficult to do. When budget limitations restrict what you can do, you have to be creative in leveraging assets that are available to you to promote your business.
If budget constraints limit or prohibit your business from investing in paid advertising campaigns, you have to leverage resources that are free or low cost to get your message in front of your target audience. Outlined below is one process that you can utilize to promote your business.
Perform Keyword Research
The key to any campaign online is to know what your target audience is searching for. Your goal in this step is to look for terms that your prospective clients would be searching for on Google, Bing, & Yahoo. A great tool to utilize is the keyword planner by Google. You can find this simply by logging into Google Adwords and navigate to the keyword planning tool. Your goal in this stage is to identify 10 keywords that are relevant to your business.
Once you have these terms, head over to keywordtool.io . This tool will help you identify terms that people are actually searching for within Google. For example if you were doing a search on Dog Training, it would give you results such as dog training collars, dog training and boarding, dog training app, etc. This will help you identify what types of content you should create to ultimately have your prospects find your content on the search engines.
Create 5 Questions For Each Term
Remember that people who are performing a search are often looking for a solution to a problem that they are experiencing. Your goal in this stage is to create approximately 50 questions that are relevant to your product or service.
Because not all questions are created equal, a simple way to check to see if the question has any traction is to perform a simple search ideally on a desktop. What you are looking for is the number of ads that are displayed above the first organic result. The more ads that are present, the more traffic a particular term receives. Because Google when it comes to search is to generate revenue off of adwords, they will serve more ads to terms that are receiving greater amounts of traffic. So if a term you come up with doesn’t have any ads displayed, you might want to consider changing the term you are utilizing.
Record A Video For Each Question
We live in a world of video. Everywhere you look you will notice that advertisers are leveraging video more and more. If you are not using video in your business, now is a great time to start. Your goal is to create a video for each question, and upload them to Youtube. We will discuss how to properly optimize a video in an upcoming post, but your goal is to create a presence with your videos on this platform.
YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine after Google. How many times have you performed a search on YouTube to learn how to do something? People go there for answers. So if you can provide answers to people’s questions, you can get your product or service in front of them.
The reason why you want to create 50 videos is to provide your business with enough traction to generate traffic to your website. As an example, let’s say that you have some fairly popular videos that resulted in 5 visits per video per day to your site. That would result in 250 visitors per day or 7500 visitors per month. Depending on your conversion rate, this would have a significant impact on your business.
Share Your Videos
An important step that you must take to help your videos rank is to share them. After you publish your video you will see various social sharing buttons beneath it. Simply share each video onto each of the networks that are listed below. You will first need to ensure that you have accounts set up on each of them.
When sharing your videos you will want to ensure that they are shared on a regular basis. One of the easiest ways to do this is Buffer. The specific tool you will want to use is Buffer’s Power Scheduler. With it you can schedule your video to be shared out on Twitter several times with a few clicks of a mouse.
Next Steps
Take action today. The sooner you start creating videos to promote your business, the faster you will begin attracting the clients and customers you need to hit your goals for this year and beyond.
